High Jump: Dapena Drill
This is a step through dapena drill with a stick, a drill used in high jump. The athlete should feel good posture by holding the stick across their shoulders, keeping the upper body and lower body on the same plane. Often times an athlete will want to lead the right shoulder into the bar. By keeping the head and chest up while holding the stick, the athlete can focus on keeping their body lined up. The athlete should keep a bent right leg as a strengthening exercise to develop an active push through the penultimate step in the high jump.
