Javelin: Short Approach Throw
This is a basic 5-step javelin short approach throw. Work on a simple 1-2-3-4-5 rhythm and also good quality positions through the finish of the throw. The athlete should run away from the javelin. Do this by keeping the right arm back as far as possible, keep the left shoulder and chin together until the left foot hits the ground right before the throw. Keep posture through the finish, it doesn't help to bring more speed if the athlete isn't strong enough to keep their head and chest up through the finish of the throw.
