Javelin: Standing Arm Out Throw
This is our standing javelin throw holding the left arm out. The purpose of this drill is to teach athletes to keep the shoulders square, and not pull the left side out at the end of the throw. This is a common problem among all javelin throwers. Pushing the left arm out and forward the athlete is forced to keep the left shoulder in and facing the throw, putting more velocity into the implement.
