Javelin: Three Step Throw
This basic 3 step javelin throw can be used to work on a variety of things in practice. Three steps throws allow athletes to take multiple throws in a session without getting too tired. We're going to focus on three basic things. First, the athlete keeps the right arm back and long, running away from the javelin with the hips. Secondly, we want to focus on the athletes right foot, knee and hip turning on the penultimate step. Notice the athlete lands on the right side and does a good job of delaying the upper body and pushing the right hip through. Finally, focusing on posture and a good strike of the javelin through the finish. Keeping the head and chest up through the finish of the throw.
